Global Shout is Supporting the Refugee Community One Package at a Time
We are delighted to announce our partnership with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to distribute food and hygiene packages bimonthly to Afghan Refugees and minorities living in the DMV area.
Global Shout has successfully held two food distribution drives that have helped support over 50 families living in the DMV area. These drives consisted of volunteers working roughly ten hours a day delivering food and hygiene packages straight to families due to many refugees lacking transportation. As a result of the lack of employment opportunities and financial help from the federal government, there have been high rates of food insecurity and unemployment among recent immigrants. Even with assistance, it is difficult for the refugees to navigate social services offered in a foreign country while still learning English. Global Shout is here to lessen their burden by providing services like food packages, household goods, home furnishing, and English classes. Refugees are still coming to the United States from camps in Qatar, Dubai, and Afghanistan; therefore, many still need our help! Please visit our donation page to make a donation or to offer our services as a volunteer to distribute.
